Friday 3/2/2018 A DATE WITH YOURSELF
February can evoke feelings of romance and belonging, as well as disconnection and indifference. Often these feelings are linked to external objects: a person, an event, an occurrence. In this class we will begin the investigation into deepening our understanding, connection and empathy towards our own being. Guided meditation, somatic movement and circle-sharing are just some of the modalities that will be gently interwoven to form a supportive container as we take ourselves on a very unique date - with ourselves.
Join Davis Q. Nguyen, who ordained as a monk with Zen Master, Peace Activist & Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Thich Nhat Hanh at the age of 21, spending the next 10 years immersing himself fully in the study, practice and application of mindfulness. He has helped facilitate and teach mindfulness trainings in diverse spaces all over the world, including the Vatican, San Quentin State Prison and the World Bank.
Friday 3/30: Sound healing meditation
On the last Friday of March, join us for a special sound healing meditation with Becca Davis and Nicola Buffa where you will experience the incredible power of sound from an array of instruments including alchemy crystal singing bowls, Tinsha chimes, drums, rattles and more. We will lie back and slowly enter into a deeply relaxing state, letting the sound-energy cut through our pain, patterns, and attachments, while the vibrations enter the core of our cells. A fantastic night of sleep usually follows!!
Friday 1/26: The Vedic Approach to Meditation with JAMES BROWN
We live in a world that prizes critical, analytical thinking and effort. We effort the hell out everything. And yet the best experiences in life, when we’re in the zone, in the flow of the present moment, are when we’re barely thinking and not trying. Join Vedic Meditation master James Brown for a workshop in which you’ll discover the forces that prevent us from being present, and learn some simple, practical and effortless meditation techniques that engage your mind’s natural ability to settle on it’s own (yes, even your mind) when you allow it to flow.
